Man, that’s sad.  Francis Magalona, better known as Francis M, if you don’t know by now, is the father of Filipino Rap.  I don’t know many of his songs, but I remember memorizing the lines to his hit song “Mga Kababayan Ko” when I was really young.  I didn’t appreciate rap music then, but it was one of the few rap songs I liked.

I don’t know much else about Francis Magalano and his battle for cancer.  I do know that he was very loved by the people close to him, both at home and at work.  When he died Friday, Vic Sotto, Joey Marquez, Pia Guano, and the rest of the Eat Bulaga crew were in tears.  Michael V and Ogie Alcasid couldn’t contain their emotions either.  You really find out what a person is like by the reactions at their funeral.

I don’t really know what to feel, since I didn’t really know the guy.  But I AM glad that he doesn’t have to suffer anymore.  Rest in peace, Kiko.
