The 2kph Accident

So I was in a car accident the other day.  Obviously I’m alright, since I’m blogging about it.  Crazy stuff; all I can say about it is it was his fault for being an idiot (I’m serious, he ADMITTED it), but it was my fault too for not assuming he was an idiot in the first place.

It wasn’t too bad.  Car’s a bit roughed up in front, but nothing major, and insurance will cover it.  Just a few very noticeable scratches.  The sad thing about it?  I couldn’t have been going over 5kph.  Ever since the gas crisis, I’ve been running at really low speeds.

This is my.. 3rd?  4th? time getting in an accident, and all those times I was never going above 5kph.  A couple of times, I was just PARKED.  ANYWAY.

Oh, and an acquaintance of mine saw the whole thing.  First thing she asks me?  When am I free to go out.  Yes, I’m alright THANKS FOR ASKING!

Weekend-ing!

If you feel like stalking me this weekend, here’s a little something to help you out.

On Friday, I will be playing basketball at the old alma mater.  It’s been a while, and I really feel like showing some people up, and scoring 20.  And I’m getting fat, so..

Saturday is WordCamp day.  It’s going to be in CSB, so I’m probably going to get lost.  Still, it’ll be a relief to NOT have to be at the office for once.

Layla is such a Biatch

We couldn’t play it.  That was on our set list for the last jam, but we couldn’t play it.  I mean, I could play the guitar part OK, and Lester could hit the bass lines.  Pok was doing alright on the skins, and Ralph could actually reach the notes, but we couldn’t play it.  Layla.  What a bitch.

With today’s rising crisis of oil prices (see what I did there?  crisis-prices?), we all do what we can to get by.  Some people start organizing carpools.  Others start commuting to work.  Others resort to bikes, and walking, and all that other healthy stuff.  Not Mars’ uncle.  He converts his Porsche 914 to all-electric.

Interested?  The full story is here.

That’s pretty cool, eh?  I mean, the electric car itself is pretty good, but to do it on a Porsche?  Snazzy.

My MacBook’s battery just died on me.  I’m so disillusioned.  I never thought I’d ever have a problem with anything Apple.  OK, granted, this is the only thing I have from Apple, but cmon!  I even laughed when they asked me if I wanted to purchase extended warranty services!

Anyway, all is not lost.  Apparently, Apple’s recalling a lot of the batteries that came with MacBooks and MacBook Pros bought during the same period I got mine.  They say it’s worldwide, so I might be able to get mine exchanged.  Otherwise, I’m out a cool Php7500 (around $160).

I don’t want to spend the extra cash.  I mean, I bought the Mac because I trusted the brand.  Don’t let me down, Mr. Jobs.  I’m still undecided about getting the new iPhone, so don’t push it.
