Whenever I fire up Multiply to do my pic-stealing, I always come across some sort of emotional rant in my inbox.  Somebody pouring out their heart and soul into a blog entry, sparing no tears, fears, or drama.  It’s mind-boggling.  I wonder if people are writing just because they feel like their emotions are assuaged by having it all down in type.  I mean, it’s either that or they’re attention whores.

I guess I can relate to that.  I used to be pretty damn sophomoric in my approach to blogging as well.  It was love poems and sonnets and all that other emo crap.  Sometimes, I wonder why I did it.  Was I more emotional?  Was I more in touch with my sensitive side?  Or did I just really want all that attention?

Admit it.  We all get warm, fuzzy feeling whenever people comment on our posts.  And man, people comment a LOT on emo posts.  I see it happening on social networks all the time.  It’s the easiest way to get instant celebrity.  The loneliest people in the world are the people who comment the most.  That’s my theory.  It’s right up there with my IRC and spinster woman with cat theory.  That’s how much weight I put on it.

Anyway, I’m writing this because for a few moments last night, I was thinking about selling out and going emo.  I was looking for attention, and I knew how to get it.  I’d write some sappy, sentimental something that would just MELT your heart.

But whatever.  Totally not me.

My refrigerator’s on the fritz right now, so we’ve been using the ref outside the house.  Now this is not a big deal, since the cook usually uses the kitchen outside.  But ever since the ref broke down, I haven’t been able to have my midnight snacks.

As a result, I feel leaner and lighter than I have in a long time.  Just thought I’d share.

So here’s a weight loss tip for all of you: Keep your foods inconvenient.  Put the celery and the other veggies on the lower shelves, and toss the junk food way up there.  You can’t imagine the difference it makes.

I recently came across a blog that had a PR of 5, and I asked what it had that I didn’t.  The layout was nothing special.  Neither was the content.  It wasn’t exactly very SEO or very niche at all.  But this woman was making a killing with paid posts.  (Yes, I recognized them).

She was a make money online fiend.

I looked at the blog, and realized I wouldn’t link to it.  It was just like any other blog out there.  But apparently, a TON of people HAVE linked to it.  That’s why it had a PR of 5 in the first place.

So I did what any jealous blogger would do.  I technocrati’ed her ass, and I found her secret.

The woman designed free Wordpress Blog Templates.  Now this isn’t an act of goodwill.  She put in a small link to her blog at the bottom of the templates.  The templates weren’t anything special, but she got enough people to use them, effectively giving herself links.

So the moral of the story?  Learn to create Wordpress templates.  I’ll be trying to.  I think.

Here’s the thing:  I need to make some serious dough, fast.  But I don’t really want to sacrifice my PR.  Or at least I don’t want to sell myself short by sacrificing it too soon before I’ve made a decent profit.  (Yes, I’m talking about this blog).  A quick suicide would net me around $30.  But I paid $45 for this thing, so I’ve got to plan this through.  This make money money online business is crazy.

Ever since Google’s battle with (insert devious backlink marketing company here,) I’ve been getting the short end of things.  I’ve been looking for ways to get around it, though.  I gotta be honest, it’s tough.  There just might be a way, though.

I’m not going to say anything just yet, because I don’t want to spout my mouth off and get everybody all excited.  In fact, I probably won’t say anything at all, unless it works.  I guess we’ll find out in a week or two.

Came across this while surfing the internets.  It’s a dating site for for bloggers, built by bloggers.  Or at least that’s what it cleaims to be.  I don’t really know what to think besides the initial “HELL YEAH that’s AWESOME!” reaction.   I mean, how hot can other bloggers be?

Whatever the case, it should make for an interesting story, and maybe even a larger network with new people.  I’ll probably try it out one of these days.  ShagABlogger.com.  That’s gotta be the craziest, most tasteless domain name I’ve heard in a while.  I’m loving it!  Represent!

Can you believe it?  I’ve had more off days than on with this blog.  I figured I’d better get my money’s worth, quarter-life crisis notwithstanding, so here it goes.

Things have been crazy, lately.  And not really so good.  My big niche blogging for adsense plan hasn’t panned out yet, but that’s probably because I haven’t done the articles I need to.  I’ll get there.  This week.  Gotta go http://blogmarc.com/!

I feel like I’m chasing time these days.  Remember when you were 7 and you couldn’t wait to grow up?  Before you know it, you’re 23 and thinking about all the things you would’ve done differently if you could live your life over again.

Then out of the darkness comes a voice saying, “Now, THERE’s an original thought!”

More updates this week.  I’m aiming for FIVE, man!
